The Alam family of Pakistan, with decades of experience in the leather industry and other related businesses, together with Porvair PLC, UK, manufacturers of Permair, have created a new company by the name of Leather Connections (Pvt) Limited, which manufactures and markets Permair belt leather and belts from a major new production facility near Lahore.

This newly formed company takes the partnership between the Alam's and Porvair to a further dimension with belt leather. The new tannery, which is one of the best equipped in the world, has been built on the 11-acre site, and is called the Alam-Porvair City. It has all the very latest production facilities and infrastructure.

This remarkable achievement is accredited largely to the drive; enthusiasm and foresight of Mr. Khurshid Alam, C.E.O. his international exposure and vision were behind this mammoth venture.

Now, the formidable partnership of the Alam Family and Porvair International has taken a new dimension with the introduction of belt leather , Leather Connections, has already comminssioned a comprehensive range of tanning machinery including the very latest technology from Italy. In the first year, the capacity is 10 million sq. ft, of finished Permair Leather using a variety of tannages for different types of belts-chrome, vegetable and chrome retans.
